Success stories

My goal is simple and very ambitious at the same time. I want to create a company that people want to pay money to, and will continue to want to pay money to after I'm gone. I see this as my personal mission. I need to create a management system, a value system, a culture that will last for generations and only get stronger. This is a big challenge. Because everyone can make money, and many can make a lot of money. But creating companies that last for centuries is the destiny of few. I'm not trying to compare myself to the greats right now, but damn it, I really do have ambitions to build a great company.

Information

I started my career at EDS in 2011, right after graduating from university (specialty Mining Electromechanics, 48 Electrical Engineer of Mining Operations) as a design engineer. The design department was small then, with only two engineers, and I came as a student with no experience. I had an interview with Alexander Zapyshny and, due to the fact that the workload was heavy, I had to start immediately. Fortunately, my colleagues helped me and shared their experience at first, until I started to get my bearings. In 2015, as we remember, there was a crisis in the country. The company was shrinking, and the design department was downsizing with it. However, despite the turbulent times, EDS decided to try to develop its own production of switchboard equipment. It was almost an adventure, but a balanced one. The niche was free, and I had desires and ideas. They made me an offer, and I accepted.

Information

My first day at EDS was exactly eight years ago, and it coincidentally happened to be my birthday. It's good to remember the date. The moment of my arrival coincided with the active phase of development of the company's project team. There was an impressive portfolio of orders, and there was no time to get used to it. I joined EDS as an ordinary design engineer. About a year later, I became the head of a small group of linear facility designers. Most of the team in those days were yesterday's students or young professionals like me. And all our immaturity as specialists, incompetence in some matters, lack of experience, all this was fully compensated for by perseverance and dedication. We studied, shared our experience, and worked together to earn our right to exist. Last year, we won the first prize among designers of solar power plants. It was a certain recognition of our work.

Information

I have been working at EDS since 2011. We have already had several super-tasks during my time here. The company has changed several times, and we have changed ourselves. All this can be seen in the numbers, in the objects we deal with, in the level of ambition, in the standard of living, in the communication level, in the level of people we gather around us. If earlier it was a big problem for us to hire at least one foreman or assembler for production, or to buy some special tool to perform work, now such issues are definitely not discussed; it is a normal ongoing process. Of course, the level is different and the problems at this level are completely different - more complex, but also more interesting. At different stages, you are proud of different things because you change. As of now, it is the construction of a 350/35 kV substation for the EuroCape wind farm in Zaporizhzhia region. For us, this facility was a milestone that we crossed and have now reached the next level. There were a lot of things we hadn't done before: working with a foreign investor, international project reporting, and much more. In my opinion, the project turned out to be excellent - we can really be proud of it!

Information

Ilya Yaremchuk
(PTV engineer)

the 141-21-7 group has been operating since 12.2023.

1. I liked the tour, the conditions and position offered, as well as the company's ambitions and active feedback.

2. I expected a good team, new experience, and reinforcement of knowledge by practice, as well as the acquisition of new knowledge with business trips throughout Ukraine.

3. I had 2 mentors (a department head and a department employee, a student of our university), who quickly taught me everything I needed to know to work independently. I learned the intricacies of the energy sector in modern trends + interaction with customers. On business trips, I encountered things that I studied in theory and was finally able to back them up with practice. I gain new knowledge and personal growth through corporate training at Olos. Knowledge from work was well integrated into the learning process, making it easier.

4. I liked the level of salary at the beginning of work, especially for a student without experience. I even managed to get a promotion, but this is not the ceiling, and I think there will be further growth.

5. I can recommend not being afraid of challenges and facing fears because they do not reflect reality, speaking from experience. Also, it will not be superfluous to be ready to learn new things, be proactive, have interest, and not be afraid of mistakes. The company is quite loyal to its employees.

Alexey Atmanzin
(System Administrator)

group 123-22-1 sk has been working in the company since 11.2023.

1. EDS-Ukraine chose me because no one else wanted to (they don't hire anyone without experience, except for a chain of sausages).

2. Interesting projects, tasks, and similar activities.

3. Administration of Active Directory, Entra ID, Teams/all Microsoft services. Network monitoring via Zabbix. Creating and administering virtual machines on the Proxmox VE service. Installation and administration of Solidworks PDM. Mentor - Sergey, I am very grateful to him; he helped me to adapt and taught me everything he knew about system administration.

4. The level of income is acceptable for me, given that I had no experience in administration at all. With new tasks and additional work, my salary increases.

5. Don't sit still, move around, and learn on your own.

Alexander Parkhomenko
(Design engineer / designer of relay protection circuits)

group 141m-23-1 has been in operation since 01.2023.

1. I chose EDS-Ukraine because of the cooperation with the university and because EDS-Ukraine is engaged in what I studied.

2. My expectations included working as an engineer and gaining new theoretical and practical knowledge.

3. I learned a deeper study of single-line circuits and equipment. There was a mentor who explained everything in an accessible and understandable way, and soon I got acquainted with the full staff of the design department, who helped me to learn new information (and continue to help).

4. Income, as in any company, corresponds to knowledge: the more you know and understand, the more you get.

5. I would advise you not to wait for golden opportunities, to study 3D modeling programs, and not to be afraid to try yourself in something new, because those who do not take risks do not work for EDS-Ukraine.
